As a member of the Regulatory & Scientific Affairs EU team, the team member will provide regulatory services related to the entire product development and commercialisation cycle, assuring that the product recipes and labels meet any relevant food legislation as well as our corporate standards.


The European Regulatory Compliance Team ensures that all MEU portfolio (Raw materials, recipes, final products, packs, claims, advertisements and corporate commitments) is in compliance with:
- Local legislations and standards
- European legislations
- MEU policies

 


Under supervision, the Regulatory Compliance /  Scientist I (SG7) ensures that raw materials, recipes, finished products, packs are in compliance with local legislations and standards, European legislations and MEU policies:
 

1. Raw materials, recipes and finished products review and approval.

  • Review and approve raw materials against EU Food legislation and internal MDLZ policies.
  • Review and approve G&C recipes for MEU implementation.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and expert support to Product Development and Marketing in support of the G&C EU business.
  • Assess the impact of emerging legislation to ensure that all products meet the regulatory requirements.

2. Simple Products Labelling Reports (PLRs) generation:
  • Legal Designation.
  • Ingredient & Allergen Declaration.
  • Nutrition Declaration.
  • Agreed on nutritional claims and other claims for the European market.
  • Agreed on symbols/logos as for ex. Tooth friendly or Dental Associations
  • Endorsement or Dietary Information (Vegetarian).
  • Interact and communicate as regulatory partner with multiple functions,
  • Work in close cooperation with product developers, marketing, legal and supply chain partners in our business units and plants

4. Artwork Approval
 

5. Supporting managers:

  • Collecting data
  • Contributing to the training and introduction of newcomers

Supervision is required for: Raw materials, recipes, PLRs and artworks approval; H&W policies; priority setting; timeline negotiation and decisions making in case of sensitive matters (e.g. risks assessment; non-conformity of raw materials, recipes, finished products and packs; enquiries from consumers or any other external people, etc.).

 




Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor/Master or equivalent in Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science or Nutrition
  • Knowledge of European Food Legislation (preferred)
  • Work in close cooperation with RD&Q, Marketing, Legal and supply chain partners.
  • Applying procedures.
  • Ability to identify risks and issues and to alert managers as appropriate.
  • Relevant experience including regulatory experience 
  • In depth knowledge of and experience in regulatory tools (like or similar to Meridian) and processes
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken)

Preferred:

  • Experience in Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D
  • Experience in the food industry
