VWT Digital Business

In the context of its transformation, Veolia Water Technologies ambitions to connect all its technologies worldwide thanks to cloud-based IoT solutions. By doing so, VWT envisions to create a long term relationship with their customers by providing them with new added value services based on enriched data and water-treatment know-how.

Digital is a way for VWT to develop new ways of servicing its customers, creating value and differentiation, as well as supporting its path to profitable growth.

In order to support its ambition, VWT has created AQUAVISTA, an innovative Digital offer based on suite of services hosted on a secured 24/7 available Cloud platform that aim at helping customers to improve their installation availability, performance and compliance with environmental regulation.

A part of the AQUAVISTA offer is already available today in several countries but the rest of it is still in construction and the Digital journey is just starting.

The VWT Digital roadmap and investments are reviewed and approved by VWT EXCO.


VWT Digital BU

In order to foster VWT’s Digital development, a Digital BU has been created in 2017 to serve the following objectives:

  • Build the standard AQUAVISTA offer and make it available consistently within VWT zones,
  • Improve the offer with customers’ feedback and analytics, along with VWT Sale’s strategy and in coordination with VEOLIA Digital roadmap,
  • Maintain and secure 24/7 the AQUAVISTA platform and ensure continuous improvement,
  • Manage external Digital partners involved in AQUAVISTA management services (Business, IoT, Digital IT, Cyber-security…)
  • Provide VWT Zones with support on methodology and tools,
  • Coordinate and train VWT Business/Dev, Marketing/Communication and IoT Communities on AQUAVISTA and Digital offers and tools.

Digital Teams in Zones

To deliver its mission, the Digital BU is relayed in each VWT Zone (AMERICAS, E&A, ME, APAC) by dedicated Digital teams reporting to the Zone CEO, in charge of:

  • Boosting Digital P&L in Zones : identifying business opportunities, developing Zone Digital business plan, supporting BUs in tender and selling processes, managing relationship with Digital BU, etc.
  • Capturing and formalizing customers feedbacks and sharing inputs with Digital BU,
  • Deploying and supporting Digital tools in Zone (first level support_’L1’), training business/development, marketing communication and IoT people in BUs to enable and support Digital activity.

Role of Digital Business/Development manager:

Within the Digital BU, the role of the Digital Business Development Manager is to design, price and promote the new AQUAVISTA Digital offer across all VWT in order in order to boost and develop VWT Digital P&L.

This implies a close coordination work with:

  •  VWT Customers (particularly key accounts),
  •  VWT Zone Digital Managers,
  •  VWT BU Business/Development network,
  •  VWT CDO and other Digital BU Team members,
  •  VWT Corp functions (Key Accounts, Marketing, Service to BUs, Finance, Legal, IT, etc.),
  •  Veolia Corp Functions (D-DIM, DTP, IS&T)

Essential functions & responsibilities

  In close coordination with stakeholders mentioned above, the Digital Business/Development Manager will:

  • Develop a standardized and consistent  AQUAVISTA Digital offer covering the different VWT businesses and market segments, in consistency  with VWT Business offers, growth strategy and standard catalogue of solutions and services,
  • Develop new  and innovative revenue models and pricing matrix to support this offer,
  • Promote the AQUAVISTA offer across all VWT Business/Development network worldwide (education, training, exchange on Voice of Customers, workshops on new business needs, etc.),
  • Work with Zone Digital Managers to build business plans and challenge customer use cases,
  • Work with VWT CDO and Veolia Corp Functions (D-DIM, DTP and IS&T Groups) in order to articulate AQUAVISTA as a consistent offer within the Veolia Digital catalogue and work on a sustainable internal operating model (monetization of VWT services, internal service and revenue models, IP management, etc.),
  • Work in close coordination with VWT CDO to capture, formalize and escalate new customer’s needs to feed VWT Digital roadmap,
  • Work in close coordination with other ‘Digital BU’ Team members in order to design and enrich the AQUAVISTA offer : 'Digital Architecture’, ‘Connectivity’, ‘Marketing and Customer Journey’.
  • Actively contribute to VWT Digital Steering Committee preparation and decision making process,
  • Ensure active inputs to competition watch and offer map driven by the ‘Digital Marketing and Customer Journey’ Manager
  • Ensure compliance of AQUAVISTA offer with country and/or industry environmental regulation.

Key contributions

  • Boost VWT overall Digital Business P&L
  • Design and promote VWT Digital Offer (value offer, pricing, distribution, sales life cycle management, etc.) along with VWT growth and Service strategy
  • Coordinate and educate VWT Business/Development communities on AQUAVISTA
  • Keep a strong link with external customers in defining and enriching the offer (lean Start Up mode)

Profil recherché - Compétences requises


Qualifications / Requirements:

Good knowledge of VWT Business offer and market segments

Business development and/or operational experience with customers

Experience in developing business cases

Experiences in selling VWT services

Experience in Lean Startup methodology is a real ‘plus’
